 ELI Consulting Services provides consultation and training services. These include individual consultation for speech, language, play and behavioural issues and half- day, full-day and lecture-style training seminars. All our services are designed to meet the needs of you and your organization.

Speech and Language Consultation
We provide speech and language consultation for children who have a speech and language delay or disorder. Services may be requested by parents, teachers or workers in playgroups, Montessori schools, and crèches. In particular, we cater for organizations that need help integrating their children into mainstream settings.

Depending on the child’s unique needs we can assess the child, write an appropriate individual plan for the child’s future language development and help with strategies for implementation of the individual plan.  Return to Top
Speech and Language Workshop
We provide workshops for parents and educators in speech and language.

Language Workshop 1 covers normal language development from birth to 6 years, definitions and examples of expressive and receptive language, an overview of the language difficulties associated with many of most common childhood developmental disorders, (including Autism, Aspergers syndrome, and Down syndrome. Language strategies illustrated will include those that work in teaching children with language delay/disorder. These will include discussion of: sign language, picture communication, repetition, music, songs and chanting.

Language Workshop 2 will focus on the link between language and play and how looking at play can support language development. The role of social interaction in language will be discussed. There will also be a discussion on sequences of play and their relevance to language development. The afternoon sessions will again provide time for videos and for group discussion and questions and answers. Both of the language days will make reference to strategies for remediation and the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS).  Return to Top
Challenging Behaviour Consultation
We provide individual behavioural consultation services for caregivers and educators of pre- and school-aged children who display challenging behaviour. Our consultants are trained to help you with such behaviours as, non-compliance, aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviour, less desired social behaviour, feeding difficulties, sleep disturbances, toileting, and more. Challenging behaviour consultation services are provided to all children regardless of their particular diagnosis or difficulty.

Our challenging behaviour consultation starts by obtaining a complete history of the problem behaviour. We then conduct a functional behavioural assessment to help us identify why your child is engaging in the problem behaviour. From there, we design an intervention plan tailored to fit your child’s needs and we train you to implement that intervention. We will also help you to assess whether the intervention is working effectively and assist you in making changes if necessary. Our goals for the consultation are to provide you with an effective treatment and to provide you with the tool necessary to assess and modify other problem behaviours as they might arise. In particular, we will train you to collect behavioural data, identify behavioural function, identify reinforcers and reinforce alternative or replacement behaviours.  Return to Top
Challenging Behaviour Workshop
We provide workshops for parents and educators in behaviour management techniques. The workshops will focus on teaching the principles of behaviour, functional behavioural assessment, behaviour reduction techniques, reinforcer assessment, and behaviour plan development. Behaviour management workshops can be designed to meet the particular needs of your organization and current level of training. We can provide half, full-day, or lecture-style workshops at your request.  Return to Top
Organizational Behaviour Consultation
We provide comprehensive organizational consultation to agencies that provide therapeutic or educational services to children and adults.
Providing service to individuals in need can be a challenging endeavor. Employee turnover is high, resources are low, and maintaining a well trained staff is always a concern. We can help minimize these concerns by teaching you to use behavioural science within your work setting. Specifically, we will conduct an organizational analysis and develop a tailored intervention plan to fit your organization’s needs. Specifically, we conduct a structural analysis, work flow analysis, and needs assessment. We then develop an individualized plan which may include process redesign, policy development, feedback, and reward or incentive systems. This service will also include supervisor training consisting of goal development, outcome measurement, reinforcing work-related behaviour and providing feedback.  Return to Top
Organizational Behaviour Workshop
We provide full and half-day workshops for managers and supervisors. We train your managers and supervisors to be more effective in pinpointing behaviours for change, measuring outcomes, reinforcing employee behaviour, monitoring and evaluating performance, and proving feedback. The workshops are designed to improve overall organizational functioning, improve employee work performance, and improve the work climate.  Return to Top
